i have to write a blog and i’m wondering if i have to use formal language or slang and abbreviations

Generally, you would use formal language in a blog, but it depends on the content of your blog.
If you are blogging on your personal life, the choice is ultimately yours, but there is no problem with using slang and/or abbreviations.
If you are blogging to review, write articles, or generally inform people, you should use formal language.
